Gas Logs Product Description

Peterson Charred series gas logs feature amazing burned-through realism because the front log is actually in two pieces giving the appearance the fire has been burning for a while, showing more flame and glowing embers.

Set includes: Gas Logs, Glowing Ember Burner, Custom Grate, Connector Kit, Glowing Embers, Sand (w/ NG models) or Vermiculite (w/ LP models), Burner Clips and Damper Clamp. Burner output: 90,000 BTU. Lifetime warranty on log set. 10 year warranty on burner assembly.

Burner Options:

G4 Burner: The G4 Burner has a single pipe running from left to right within the burner pan. It has holes in the bottom of the pipe spanning the entire length of the burner, providing maximum flame coverage. Silica sand spreads over the pipe (or vermiculite for Propane) with glowing embers on top that add depth to the flame, providing a more realistic flame pattern.

G45 Burner: The G45 Burner has the same main burner pipe as the G4 Burner, but adds a T-shaped additional front burner pipe which accentuates the front ember presentation and provides even more depth to the flame. This maximizes warmth as well. With this burner, you will see more glowing embers and a small row of front flames, adding more realism to your fireplace.

Ignition methods available with this Peterson log set:

Match Light: For Natural Gas logs sets only. With this method, you will use an existing valve that controls the gas flow in your fireplace and you will manually light the burner with long fireplace matches or a butane fireplace lighter.

Safety Pilot Kit (SPK-26): This method uses a standing pilot so that you just need to turn the included valve on to light the burner. The height of the flame is manually controlled by the valve. The valve has a safety pilot that turns the gas off if the pilot goes out. It is included with all propane log sets unless you purchase one of the remote ignition options which also have the safety pilot feature. Note: This unit adds about 4" to the required width needed for your log set to fit and function properly.

Variable Flame Remote (APK-17): This method uses a standing pilot and allows you to adjust the flame height up and down using a handheld remote. This valve has a safety pilot that turns the gas off if the pilot goes out. Note: This unit adds about 4" to the required width needed for your log set to fit and function properly.

On/Off Remote (APK-11): This method uses a standing pilot and allows you to turn the burner on and off to a preset flame height with a handheld remote. The height of the flame is controlled by your existing gas control valve. This valve has a safety pilot that turns the gas off if the pilot goes out. Note: This unit adds about 6" to the required width needed for your log set to fit and function properly.

Electronic Pilot Kit Remote (EPK-1): This method uses an electronic ignitor to light the pilot and burner using a handheld remote. This allows you to turn the burner on and off without having a standing pilot. The height of the flame is controlled by your existing gas control valve. This valve has a safety pilot that turns the gas off if the pilot goes out. Note: This unit adds about 4" to the required width needed for your log set to fit and function properly.

Vented Gas Logs must be installed in a fireplace with a fully functional chimney, to draft the smoke and combustion gases from your home. These log sets have been available for over 50 years and are still the most popular. Vented logs are the logs that most resemble a realistic wood fire. They use an open damper, which limits heating efficiency. Just like burning a wood fire, most heat escapes the chimney and only a small amount is returned to your home. Vented log sets are more flexible. Logs can be repositioned according to preference.
